This company is part of the world’s largest tire and rubber company. In addition to tires for use in wide variety of applications, it manufactures a broad range of diversified products, which include industrial rubber and chemical products and sporting goods. Its products are sold in over 150 nations and territories around the world. This subsidiary company is looking to hire aSr. Process Engineer for their operations in the Gastonia, NC area (only 25 minutes from Charlotte, NC).

This position provides technical and process engineering support for management and teammates in the Treating / Finishing Unit in the manufacturing of products to maintain and improve quality and lower manufacturing costs.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • The Process Engineer supports and partners with management and teammates with a focus on safety, quality and production from a process engineering standpoint.
     
  • This position provides technical and process engineering support for the management team and hourly teammates in the Treating Unit in the manufacturing of products to maintain and improve quality and lower manufacturing costs.
     
  • The Process Engineer plays a vital role in supporting day to day manufacturing operations in evaluating processes and recommending process changes with a focus on continuous improvement. This position instructs teammates on the use of current and newly developed equipment processes and related standards.
     
  • This position drives the maintenance and development of standard driven processes and product specifications as well as related functions and projects to ensure manufacturing effectiveness and efficiency. In addition this position coordinates plans and facilitates projects including trials, testing, and runs to support the management team and the operation.
 
Requirements include but are not limited to the following:
  • Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering or related engineering discipline
  • At least 5 years of Engineering experience in a manufacturing/ production environment.
  • Six Sigma certification, related process improvement and continuous improvement expertise is preferred.
